The Devonshire is Vispring's entry point into the hand-crafted range, built entirely on British wool across three distinct layers that perform different roles from surface to core. The ticking is woven from wool and viscose, a pairing that keeps the cover soft against the skin while adding durability for decades of use. Beneath it, hand-teased Devonshire fleece wool provides immediate give, encouraging airflow to regulate temperature throughout the night, followed by a deeper British fleece wool layer that adds depth and resilience to prevent uneven compression over time.
The spring system features a single tier of 1,716 hand-nested, calico-pocketed Vanadium steel coils in a King size, each in its own calico pocket to respond independently to weight. Vanadium steel maintains tension longer than standard carbon steel, a characteristic extended across the range. Available in four tensions—Soft, Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm—Kings can be split for partner preferences. Two rows of hand side-stitching secure the border coils to the edge, while hand-tufting with felt washers anchors fillings at regular intervals to prevent lateral shift and preserve a firm, uniform sleeping surface over time.
